As a first time mommy, one thing I have been concerned about is getting stretch marks while my baby grows in my womb. Most research shows that stretch marks are genetic, and that if you already have them you are likely to get more while pregnant. However, there are some things you can do to keep them from getting out of control. First and foremost, stay hydrated. Secondly, keep skin moisturized. Following these two rules will help relieve the itching and keep any marks from being too severe. I was sent Asili Belly Butter to try and I can’t wait to tell you my results, but first, here are the details about Asili Belly Butter:
Our Beautiful Belly Butter is formulated with large amounts of Shea and Cocoa Butters along with emollient-rich Sweet Almond, Rice Bran and Grapeseed and Essential Oils to help soothe and protect mama’s beautiful growing belly as well as help heal after the baby. Lavender works to heal stretch marks and relieve dry and itchy skin, while the butters hydrate, protect the skin while maintaining elasticity.
Ingredients: Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Emulsifying Wax, Distilled Water, Sweet Almond Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, Geranium and Sweet Orange Essential Oils.
Shea Butter: naturally rich in vitamins A, E, & F which are essential for good skin balance. Shea Butter absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy residue, and penetrates deep into the skin to help restore elasticity without clogging pores, leaving skin clear and smooth.
Lavender Essential Oil: has a calming effect which makes it a good tonic for the nerves and can help in treating migraines, headaches , anxiety, depression, nervous tension and emotional stress. It is also known to stimulate skin cell growth which helps heal wounds, cuts and other skin irritations, and protect from infection.
Ylang Ylang Essential Oil: has a euphoric and sedative effect on the nervous system and helps with anxiety and tension. On the skin it has a soothing effect and helps stimulate new cell growth, smoothes wrinkles and helps with pre-mature aging.
Sweet Orange Essential Oil: is shown to promote the production of collagen as well as increase the blood flow to the skin. It is helpful at soothing dry, irritated skin as well.
My results:
So far in my pregnancy I have tried four different belly creams and oils, but my absolute favorite is by Asili body products; it’s their beautiful belly butter. I have a laundry list of reasons why I love the Asili Belly Butter, beginning with the fact that it is all natural. This is really important to me because so many chemicals can cross the placenta, exposing the baby to them. It’s so important to me to keep chemical exposure minimal during my pregnancy. I also love the scent of this belly butter. It is aromatherapy in a jar (even my husband likes the scent), so I always feel relaxed after I put it on.
Additionally, my skin literally soaks beautiful belly butter in within seconds, making it possible to get dressed right after slathering it on. The other belly creams and oils I have tried don’t do that. The jar is also a great size I’ve been using this cream twice a day for about a month and still have a third of the jar left. And when it comes to stopping the itch, beautiful belly butter is the best. The itch stops almost instantly which is just wonderful because stretching pregnancy skin itches horribly. Pregnancy can also lead to dry skin, which I was plagued by before using this butter, and I’ve noticed that at the end of the day, my skin isn’t as dry. More often than not, it feels just as supple as when I first applied beautiful belly butter in the morning.
I highly recommend this belly butter to first time mommies and been there done that mommies alike. It’s all natural and effective. It soothes skin and keeps it moisturized. I give Asili beautiful belly butter FIVE very enthusiastic blings!!
